Honda cb 500 1998

Post  gaet on Mon 1 Jun - 12:05

At the beginning, it was a basic cb

Good bike for the first one, got me up in ireland for 2 years. But there, i could taste literally the irish roads... A tank slapper got me off of my baby. Bad news, bike totally destroyed. I was working in a bike shop up there ( if i can do some publicity, CB Motorcycles in Cork, great people, hi to John, Debbie, Dave and Alan if they can read that...) My boss gave some parts he went to buy in USA.
ZX7R Front end, vfr 750 swimming arm and we had to put it all together.

first step, was just missing a proper paint job, which was done couple of months (would i say years...) after.

That's not a proper Cafe racer but at least i got my bike done as iwanted it to be...
One day, hope it'll come soon, i'll get a bike i'll cut the end off i make MY cafe racer...

You know i'm just waintin for the money to come in but with a baby at home it's kind of difficult.
But no worries, i'm making my way to get something to work on asap!!! not something big, but a base for a cafe racer, like a cb 550 or else... Twisted Evil Twisted Evil Twisted Evil

It's not exactly a cafe racer, nor a classic bike... scratch

Anyway, maybe this forum will get you to find some good old classic ride to turn into a cool cafe racer...!
cheers

Welcome again et toutes mes felicitations pour le bebe...!

Good job. I like to see a bike "recover" from a crash and take to the road again.

Help

Post  sevillapower on Tue 8 Nov - 15:21

very nice bike

I was thinking in doing the something like that too, but, how did you put the center shock, did you have to do much welding or how does it work?

thanks

Welcome to the forum sevillapower. Could you please introduce yourself first, under section "New members, start here"?
Just posting a few words about your bike and yourself, so that everyone knows who's talking.
Thank you !

Advice from Gaet

Post  ToreroJames on Thu 9 Jan - 12:58

Hello Gaet, and all who read this.

I´ve just introduced myself here in the forum, don´t remember exactly how, but I reached it following the pictures of your CB500.
So, if you have time, please let me know if you can help me: I´m very interested in doing the same swing arm modification on a 1994 CB500.
As a mechanics student, all the advice I can get is more than helpfull.

Thanks in advance!

PD. How old is your child now? Do you still ride that bike?

Greetings from Spain!
