Honda CB 500 1999

Post  nico2tours on Tue 2 Jun - 19:05

Hey ! It's the moment to show U my bike ! A WONDERFUL Honda CB 500 1999

I came buy it in "Le Mans", the town were there is the celeb track !
At the beginning, that was this :

Very basic but else with a MIG exhaust and a "bubble " (I'm not sure of this last word ! )

So the miles parade...I buy thermal bandage to a "dragster run meeting" and I choose to remove the air box to put new conical filters ! It's

willn't be NOS kit but Dark dog !!!

And so, a new idea come into my little head...sanding and paint my front wheel and put Ó double optic'...but in what sense ?

Finally it's be like triumph or buell !

And after, I bought a sabot (right word ? ) and a new leovince exhaust (that sing like Britney Spears, a morning after a nice drunk night !)

Meanwhile, I redo my electric cables to mask the inner tube under the optic !

And 2 or 3 month ago, I juggled with my grinder (disqueuse) when it fall on my bike !

A sit of Ducati monster take the free place !

So the last change that I've done is to paint my tank, my sabot and my mud guard in mat'black with two mat'white stripes at the middle !

.
.
.
.
.
.
.
.
tindinnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnn !

So I hope you'll be enjoyed to see my bike...and that you'll not launch me tomatoes !

Do you see other changes that I can done ? (please...not 1 litre of gazoline and a match ! )

Bye !

Hi Nico,
okay, this is a respectale result - cause the first picture is a horror! It looks more in a streetfighter direction for me - and ,no question, this is the "caferacer" of the younger generation. You ask for some tipps ? So if you try a pair of clipons and a classic cafeseat it will be the youngest C-racer on this site! Look through the project gallerie - sometime "taste" change and then you get that feeling that you need an "oldstyle" bike. Today i ride 60 km with my old/new Sr500 - and be sure this is really fun - but i need 30 kicks after fill of some gasoline - wish for an estart comes - but only until the motor runs again. So wellcome here - and noone "grill" you Honda. Andreas

Andreas, I love your sense of diplomacy and the subtile terms in which you can express yourself...

Thx for your replies ! Wink

So I already tryed to put a pair of 600 cbr clipons (like in the background of this picture - that's the same diameter : 37mm) but I had a problem with the hanful accelerator...it doesn't come to its original position (and I don't want to run on a wall )

I didn't insist because I'm tall, and I'm affraid to develop a terrible backache !

That's ok for a meeting, where one day, full of beer, I'll try to kick your german, to reach to start it in 60th only !
And when I'll be more experienced, maybe that I'll start it in 25 ! cheers

But I already successfully start a scooter in less 3 kicks at work ! ok ok...................................

Aha - scooter with 3 kicks. Ok - My SR has 500ccm - scooter 50ccm - so with matematic rules you start her after 30 kicks! That`s the same like me!! We will try - and you get a round on an old bike trough the wonderfull netherland mountains!
So we ride until the sun goes down and the gas is empty and we must walk back - with some sixpacks beside.

I really like this. Nice job.

I prefer the stacked headlight though.
