Yes, I thought the sound of the engine would have been more "convincing"...

First of all, I don't like the look of the bike at all.

But I am happy to see that there are still people trying all kinds of crazy things like this.
At least there are some people that know how to engineer and fabricate these kind of things,
instead of some going to a local bike dealer and buying a, mostly plastic, bike and don't know
how to even change brake pads or chain and cams.

Toecutter,

A bit of history of the radial engine. It was mostly used during WW2 on bomber and fighter planes.
That explains why you thought it was taking of.


Conclusion:
Cool idea, just not a practical engine to put on a bike.
