Commando in 1957 Wideline frame @ Young at Heart (YAH) project
Hi guy's
I'm Amran from Klang, Malaysia. My café is all about Young at Heart (YAH), straight forward project because it just putting of the 1972 Norton commando engines (Young heart) in 1957 Wideline featherbed frame (Old body). Being my first cafe project, I simply did not know where to start. Few questions need to consider and answer in this project: Am I looking for cafe in all the right places? Should I look up the original vs Café? New parts is…money? because the more you put together, the more it want to done. My enthusiasm vs my ability? So, after I get motivated by Kenny Cummings from New York City thing just move slowly..but surely i hope
Many thanks also to Kenny (http://www.shelbynyc.com/nycnorton/74Commando.htm) for sending me his engine mounting scan photo for a kickoff my YAH project. Really appreciate it.

Attached herewith some of my bikes project for sharing. Hope somebody out there, who love play with tools and dirty hand to share your interesting story about your cafe project etc.
Frame: 1957 featherbed frame painted with Hammerite black satin
Others: Local made steel central oil tank & gas tank..

Motor: 72 Commando 750cc engine
Gearbox: Modification of AMC gearbox with longer commando mainshaft etc.,

Although, I know something less about it but, i know the sound.. dug..dug..dug.
To be continued...gtg

So..being NKOTB and not 'financial sound' man,my concept is also straight forward,
Just used things that less cosmetical but practical..such as nippon or home made things.
My junk for your
Front end
Standard Suzuki GS550 Hub and disc brake
Standard Suzuki GS550 front fork & brake calipers
WM3 Sanremo Italy Alloy rim with custom spokes

Home made headlights brackets to support 1930 Lucas car's 8'' headlight..

Yamaha clutch lever..nippon
Yamaha brake lever with standard master cylinder…nippon
Yamaha clip on handle..nippon

Rear end
Standard Suzuki GS550 Hub & custom sprocket..zen idea, TQ
WM3 Sanremo Italy Alloy rim with custom spokes
Nippon shocks…

Plans for the future
My dream after more financial sounding
I really admire front hub end likes 4LS Suzuki water buffalo assembly..nippon too
All alloy material for all mild steel parts engine and gearbox mounting..
So. it may take a long time to get it, but the feel good factor, passion & friendship spirit behind it
really motivate me and make it keep on going

More to come..i think
If you have an Idea, please put it, for my

I think it is great you use the materials you like instead of the "cool" ones. It makes your bike unique and cool. Nothing is more exiting then seeing something like this bike evolving

Gentlemans, thanks a lots to make me
and
Hi Hofman,
Yes, given colonial history, still many of life classic bike in Malaysia, mainly british iron apart of nippon cub and italy goon's.
Some photo 4U2C :

Arial view from a 1900 tin Dredge in Tanjung Tualang, Perak, Malaysia.
Walking onto it was like stepping back in time…the pontoon is 75m long and 20m wide and three storeys high.really looked like a colossal metal monster sitting in a pond, like a relative of a dinosaur..

Old friends in early day… really hard time

Great looking project. I love the headlight. I've seen a brass filler cap on ebay that would look good on your bike.
