I'll try to post bigger pic's.
Just bought me a second bike and parts.

For the project, the wheelbase has to change.
1492 mm is far to long.
This bike should have a 1420 wheelbase.
For this reason I need to shorten it by 70mm

40 mm from the "achterbrug"(what is the english for this part?)
And 30mm by changing the forkangle.

Anyone ever did this before?

Here is a pic of the engine and carb's.

There is a guy , near Rotterdam , who obtained an original CR750 some years ago. He wasn't aware of this.
And when he got wisphered in, he started to restored for his son . being a Cafe-racer on the way, hahaha.
As he is a fanatic Norton pilot, he won't be seen on a rare Honda. Evil or Very Mad

Lots of luck with your project

Thanx Ton up Boy,

I wishI had bought a original CR 750.............

Well today the first step is set toward a shorter Wheelbase.
I cut out 4 cm from the back of the rear.
This will be welded together again.

The modification on the swingarm looks very interesting. Will the results be good if you only adjust the swingarm and not the angle in front?
Keep us updated how you weld the swingarm back together. This looks like an intersting thing for me to Very Happy

Hey,

You're right, but I'm also changing the frontfork angle by 2 Gr.
This way the wheelbase of the bike will be more like today's superbikes.
Hope to weld the swingarm this weekend and know how to change the front angle.

you'll be posted.

oh well it isn't welded all over but in place.
Need to change the angle of the frontfork so that the fronttyre comes back 3 - 4 cm.

This way the angle changes from 27 to 24 degrees. More racy.

I'm gonna get me my second bike now.

more parts

Post  silverCR750 on Mon 3 Aug - 23:25

Hi there.

My second bike is almost in parts now.
Only the engine and frontfork are in place.

I'm bussy cleaning al the parts witch cost me a lots of time.

I noticed there are 2 kinds of triple-trees.
1 is upper-tree is higher and the forklegs come further forward.
The other is flat and hereby the legs are nearer to the frame.

The new clipons are in the house.
They are Magura and aluminium.

keep you posted.

Hi there,

Only bussy with small parts for now.
Cleaned many parts and traded a few boxes of my parts for a few new parts.
Front hub
Oilfilter screw

Yesterday I took apart the carburateurs en cleaned all the sand and oil of them.

Today I removed a lot of material from the upper triple-tree.
Tomorrow I'll weigh them to see witch one will be used in the bike.

Keep you posted.

Lots off work butt little to see.
That's what I like in a bikebuild.
Small details that make the diverence with standard bikes.

Parts that will only be seen by other people who know what it is to make a personal caferacer.

I like several bikes in the forum and think about the time putts into it.

see you.

Re: try to build a CR 750

Today I build in an engine for measering the exhaust, rear shocks and frame.
Just for the picture I also put in the frontfork, frontdisks and clip-ons. :)

The frontdisk weigh about 6 kilo a peace. I think they will be changed for some modern and much lighter ones.
Now I can fit in the exhaust and see where the rearshock's must be placed.

The frame will be 1 centimeter lower on the front than on the back.
Rearshocks are 4 cm to short so a solution must be found here.

In this set-up there is 23 centimeter groundclearance. Original is about17??

All inn All a lot to think about in the coming days.

Hi there,

Been to the races at Assen this weekend.

But also breaking my mind how to solve some problems.
Today I welded the rearfork and exhaust pipes.
Bought a lighter rearaxle and found what frontdisks cam be used on the fronthub.
