Still looking for something more convincing for the back & seat, I've started to decorate the bike with my favourite motive: black & white checked deco I've also mounted a smaller bar end miror.

She's looking a bit more cool now, it's on its way

And she's a real pleasure to ride, the real Kawasaki "Let the good time roll" heaven on wheels!

Now, I really have to find a decent seat...

More news soon!

New update:
I solved my seat problem!
And I found exactly what I was looking for.
After month of searching on the Web, I scored this old Honda stock seat (Giuliari, coming from a 1976 CB 400 four) in a very good condition and for a nice price:

I wanted to stay faithfull to Kawasaki of course, but as Giuliari made seats for Kawa as well as for Honda...
And the problem with the Giuliari seats for kawa is that they always have this empty space on the back for the typical kawa ducktail - the only ugly thing in the Zed series, if you ask me. Evil or Very Mad

I removed the "honda 400 four" signs using some sticker removal liquid:

And this is the result:

Then I modified the fixation system for it to fit my kawa
and I finished the decoration of the back side of the seat, to match the deco of the tank:

So here is what she looks like now (she's dirty of course, that's the wheater - but imagine her nicely cleaned for a sunny day )

Now, my next steps will be to take care of the taillight and to do something about the rear fender.
And then find a way to strip the exhaust pipes in order to get that shiny chrome again - or simply get me some other ones...

A little update:
As I explained in another section of the forum, now that all carburation problems are solved and that the bike rides as a good kawasaki Z should always do , I've started to clean up the exhaust. It's working pretty well.

Now I still have to do something about this biiiiig taillight, and the next step will be to strip off this ugly paint on the frontfork, in order to reveal the alloy and to make it shine again (in Belgom Alu I Trust! ).

Andreas, you're a mate! That's a really cool proposition...
But don't worry, I'll do it my way, that's a bit in my character: to do everything myself.
And I'm afraid I will not change anymore, now

Little update:

I've started to clean up the front fork, taking off the ugly paint from the previous owner:

It's much better now:

I'll still have to finish off some details here and there, but this will come with the normal maintenance.

Little update.
At last I found a cool bar, not so low as clip-ons but shorter and lower than the ace-bars I tried until now.
Exactly what I was looking for:

The result, on my Zed:

Now I'm waiting for this bar, because it's coming from India, and I think it take a few weeks.
Your Kawa start looks nice. I like the Japanees Youngtimer bike, especially rebuilt to CR
