My Flat-Twin BMW Cafe Racer

Post  LastMohawk on Fri 4 Dec - 16:26

Hello,

now I wish to show you my bike. It's a nearly 30 years old BMW airhead, a R100RS.
2 years ago, I bought a good looking deep red R100RS. In the winter 2007/2008 the first thing Sabine and I did ist stripping the bike Shocked
No alloy wheels needed, no disk breakes needed, no plastics needed and the tank we thought, was not really a caferacer style tank.
We found the rear-sets with levels and footrests at Raask in Sweden, an old handmade AlloyTank and the half fairing of a 900SS Ducati.
With new wire wheels, the bike looks like an old Cafe Racer.
At least the engine:
- double ingnition
- sport camshaft
- change pistons and the cylinders ! The cylinders are covered with Nisic, the piston, covered with molybdane, is about 150 g lighter than the genuine part.

and of course new tyres: Conti Go! - perfect choice we think

the silencers are from England: Keihan free flow - and silencer is just a choke for these loud pipes

No have a look an me and my bike:

Here some pics on the road together with the best girl

Somewhere in Germany:

near Frankfurt/ Germany

in the swiss alpes:

And here without the Ducati half fairing (just a test)

my other airhead, also a 30 year old BMW R100RS

and here Sabines little Kawa Z400 K - also 30 years old an a beatifull Cafe Racer

so thanks for watching my pics, hope you enjoy the pics.

greetings from the Mohawk

Nice beemer! What kind of ignition do you use? I see that you don't have a battery on the bike.
