Nice bike!
Like the tank!

Don't get me wrong, but ity seems to me the amound of work isn't that much.

I mean your frame, wheels, engine, front end etc looks OK.
Maybe some attention, but no whole restauration.

Anyway: VERY NICE BIKE!
Where did you get it?

Uhmm.... This is my other XS750 Very Happy
I made a trade whith the Honda.

And it's not going to be a restauration but there is still a lot to do.
- tank needs new coating inside
-there is no speedo
-painting tanks and engine
-new bigger seat
-rearset for braking/shifting

so enough work to do but indeed the base is very good.
I really looking forward to it

Ok Kornfed - so i will observe you !! Shocked and look what your are doing . Im sure - at the end it will be a great c-racer - like your XS750. It can be also nice to work only "cosmetic" and change the optic direction. So have some fun. BTW - someone take the XS and give you this bike ?

Yes Andreas, it was a trade without money. I think the value of both bikes was pretty much the same.

Today for the first time I heard the CB running.
I couldn't get it started so I cleaned the carbs a bit. The needle from the gaschambers was stucked.
After a fiew tries she started and in the neigbourhood was panic allover
What a great and brute sound it makes.
So the first job is to clean the carbs good.

Re: Honda CB750 K2 new project

Post  kornfed on Mon 4 Jan - 0:38

I have an old ultrasonic cleaner. So I cleaned them with gasoline and wasbenzine??
But the outside have I cleaned with an old toothbrush and wasbenzine. That works almost better as ultasonic cleaning.
There was also some stuff that was hard to remove so I used a schuursponsje met wat CIF.
Very Happy

Yesterday I disassembled the frontfork becauce there was no suspension. I ordered new oil and seals. In one of the tubes was no oil at all and it was very dirty. After a few hours cleaning they look better. However the innertube is rusty at the end (where the headlight is mounted) fortunatly is the other side good. For now I have to get on with it.
I polished the outhertube and they look very shiney now. (just used commandant no 4)

This week I will finish the other fork.

I also bought a nice rearset!

It's a Rickman but it is leaking a little bit.
I will try to fix it with epoxy.
A new one is to expensive for me (275 euro in England) so I hope it will work.

Ah cool!
