converting a bike to run on LPG is not that hard,
only exeption is a single cylinder two stroke.
i used to run a MZ 250 combo with LPG conversion for a couple of years.
it took three months to set up the LPG.
on a normal four stroke it is basically just fit and ride away.

I think an lpg-tank is safer than a polyesther tank with 18 liters of fuel in it.
An lpg tank is disigned to be very strong.. if normal fuel leaks out the fumes of gasoline are more flammable then liquid gas I think...
