Hi Smoky, nice project - enough work for some weeks. Is the tank silver painted ? looks like the original one? How old is your bike - and wich distance is the motor running. See also a bypass and cooler , tell me a bit more about this.

thanks for the reaction guys. It's the original tank but I still have to paint it including the seat. The bike is from 1979 and has about 50 000km. Do you mean by bypass the oil cooler? It is just an extra cooling for the motoroil.
I've read that you also have some sr500, when I'm gonna try to run the motor I will probably have some questions for you because I douth that it will run from the first time.

Hi smoky - yes i mean the "temperatur bypass" for your cooler. Be carefull if you open the part. If you turn arround the inside - it don`t work! See the pic for this. You see it is a nice part for polishing.

Any question? I help you!

Andreas

Hi Andreas, thanks for the compliment. The exhaust is a Megaton muffler, there are two types: a short one and a long one. Mine is the short one. You can find some more info about it on different sites, just type Megaton muffler in Google. I just had to adjust the collector by putting a 20 cm long stainless steel pipe between the collector and the muffler so it would fit with the rear brake pedal. I'll keep you posted of my progess with the sr.
By the way, very nice job you did with the wheels of your sr. You're the best owner an old sr can get.

Hi Smoky,
thanks for your info - than i know that type of pipe. Think it`s the same I have in my workshop.
If you go on my website, you can see it - and some more wheels too.
Hope you upholster your seat - it looks like an "IndiaFakir" seat
