Old Triton

Post  Jerry C. Smith on Wed 14 Apr - 3:28

I built this Triton in 1973. It used an Atlas frame and an iron-head 6T Triumph 650 engine. It wasnt very fast, but started easily, ran smoothly, and was pretty unusual at the time in the US.

Ah, wish i still had it!

But no, I sold it probably 20 years ago. Is your T100 stock? Anything from the '50s is transforming into gold these days! The only bike I currently have tagged and insured is my trust Honda Ascot. Seems I wrench more and ride less the older I get. Sad

That is truly beautiful! I live north of Baltimore in the US. The Triumph importer used to be only about 50K from here, so this area had a lot of very successful Triumph dealers. Even so, there are very few bikes of that vintage or quality around here. Every year there is a big classic and vintage day about 40 miles from me, and occasionally something like your T100 will show up. Here is their website www.classicmotorcycleday.org.

Brit-bike meet

Post  Jerry C. Smith on Mon 19 Apr - 18:34

The British & European Classic Motorcycle Day actually started off over 25 years ago as British Motorcycle Day, which itself had a run of, I believe, 18 years. The meet has REALLY increased interest in classic and vintage bikes in this entire region. It started off with a guy having a friendly ride-in in his back year, and about 3 times more bikes showed up than anyone expected. It was off to the races after that!
