Thruxton from Andreas

Post  andreas on Tue 15 Jun - 21:05

Hi Guys, between my other projects i will show you a new one. I get a Thruxton from a friend - a man without money problems.
So i order for more than 5000,-€ parts for the bike, and you can follow what happen now - also one my website.
For the start i give you two pics.
Here is the bike like i get it. Not so bad - with racing exhaust.

uhmmmm 5000 euro for parts!
That's enough to build 5 caferacers.

Curious about the result Andreas. I like the bike already so I wonder what kind of parts you bought.

Hi Kornfed,
the bike looks at the moment like this - striptease in my garage.

I order : Zard stainless 2 - 1 exhaustsystem, powercommander, SAS eliminationkit , powerkit for the intake, LSL clipons, Rizoma mirrors, MAS aluparts, alutank, aluseat, alusitepanels, Wilbers shocks, Pazzo levers, performance oilcooler and oil presure kit, olitemp., new dashbord, new foodpegs, new Kellermann signalsystem - so you need no taillight - and some more bold on parts. Next step - new wheels with bigger rims and front in 17" .
That`s what he want - so i don`t ask why!!

Andreas

Hey Andreas,
Based on what I've seen you build in the past that guy is gonna walk on outta there with a huge grin on his face but 5000euro is a lot of money for most of us.
Looks like this amateur caféracergig is turning into the same thing as chopperbuilding did in the late 90ths. ......30000euro projects. But whattafuck....... at least it enables Andreas to put another beautiful bike on the road.

Hi rafe - you are right, but it´s nice to order parts -I can`t pay for. It is like it is - an easy and clean bolt on project - and at the end - i hope - for a lucky rider.

Short update from today - These parts are the "starterset".

here you can see the new ZARD exhaust - this part need a Powercommander and a free intake ( K&N).

and a view on the clean rearend with supersmall "Kellermann" lights. You need no taillight for this end!

The melodie from a Triple can't be compared to anything else.

Keep up the shiny work.

Re: Thruxton from Andreas

Post  andreas on Tue 22 Jun - 21:23

Next step today - new parts - and i must do my best - cause sunday the bike must be back on the road. Then i wait for the aluparts.
Some pic`s from late work.
I strip down the frontend and have some fun with the "cabelsalat"

problems with the tape - cause there is no space between the tubes. Will see what the owner want.

Today i get new parts - 3 hours later anything is at his place.

More the next days.

I must say I'm not a fan of the Hinckley Twins (try to look
old but don't...), but in this case:

Well done! The bike improved very much by your work Andy!

I think it was a good idea to remove as much of the retro-stuff
as possible to make her something unique and not a copy of the
old caferacers...

Best regards

Have some proplems with the powercommander - we need some Dynoruns and a new mappping. Not a big thing.
