Llandough Flyer - 1976 Ducati 860 GTS Cafe Racer ( Taimoshan Cycle Works)
Hello Cafe racer fans,
I would like to introduce my latest summer project, the Llandough Flyer - a 1976 Ducati 860 GTS bevel drive cafe racer. Basically I put this bike together as the summer run around from a fairly plain Ducati 860 GTS. I completely stripped the bike, chopped the rear sub frame to take the single seat unit from the 750 & 900ss, fitted rearsets, removed all the un-used frame tabs, repainted the frame, rewired the bike, fitted new old school brit bike controls in polished Alloy, new head light mounts, swapped the front forks left to right so the calipers are now sitting behind the legs, then polished the fork legs, fitted adj cli ons, new gauges, Polished the Akront flanged alloy rims and rear brake hub and a few other things to re-style the bike.
I think it works and it is lovely to ride.
Now at the end of summer the bike will go up for sale to make way for 2 more projects that i have started, a Vincent racer and a BSA A65 racer
All are welcome to visit my new site to see more build pics www.taimoshancycleworks.com

nice job, I also have a 860GTS waiting for some TLC and was thinking of doing some work on the body as the original is not that nice....

Thanks for the compliment, It is amazing what you can do with a TIG welder and a keen eye for detail. Even a plain 860GTS can look beautiful and a real joy to ride. :-)
So what do you have in mind for your GTS?

at first I am going to drive it around a bit without the side panels and with K&N filters. And I layed my hands on a almost new Conti 2-1 racing exhaust
so if this setup works and all is technically sound I'll have a look what to do... kind of depends what pops up in EvilBay on 2nd hand parts
