Hello from Racer X in Maryland

Post  Racer X on Sat 11 Sep - 15:03

Hello
I am a motorcyle nut . I always loved cafe racers.Growing up in the 70s 80 s they are what I was used to seeing. I went to the Isle of Man TT in 2008 and fell in love with the bikes.

I have had a bunch of bikes. I first learned to ride on a KH500 triple.
My current ride is a 250 ninja .It is been modified to do Land speed racing and drag racing and has broken many records. I am trying to have the worlds fastest 250 ninja. It is the Quickest 250 ninja at 14.4 sec 1/4 mile .I plan on spraying nitrous in two weeks and hope to get a top speed ever on a 250 ninja. My current best is 112 and the top speed is 119 mph.

But I want to ride on the street . I sold all my stuff and bikes to finance my racing. I have lots of parts and know the bike so well I figure it is time to build a custom street bike.
My plan is to get a 2008 ninja 250 and remove the stock body. Then strip it down to the bones and build up with Airtech parts. I know Kent from the Land speed world and have bought parts from him before. I kinda want a solo seat and bikini fairing.I am just beginning this build and hope to get inspiration from the many cool bikes on this forum

This in my bike

I feel the steel frame and two cylinder engine give it an authentic feel And 17 inch wheels and disc brakes will make it fun to ride. I may have to hide the radiator some how.

This is a photo of my 250 ninja running at about 110 mph .

I just want to try uploading a photo. I am going to the race track next week to try to set a land speed record on my 250 ninja. And in early October I am headed to the Barber Motorsports park to see the vintage motorcycle show. I will take lots of pictures .

I have been there more than once while visiting family in Birmingham, enjoy it, it is a great place to see just about every kind of bike and lots of cafe and vintage racer stuff there as well. Here is one of many photos I took. The codger in the background is my brother-in-law.[img][/img]

Just back from Barber Motorsports park . I ran into some friends and had a great weekend. Some photos from the museum. I am trying to fit a 250 ninja chassis under some vintage body work .
So I got some photos to use as inspiration.

I finished my cafe racer tank. I still have to race one more time then I can get to work. I am the fastest 250 Ninja witha top speed of 121 mph.
I am going to run again in three days .The bike is running on Methanol gasoline and nitrous Oxide. I want to be the fastest 250 on earth.
