Hello from Germany

Post  Werner60 on Sun 6 Mar - 15:20

Hi there,
my name is Werner, 50 years old, riding bikes since 34 years and most interested in bikes of the 70s and 80s. Older bikes are nice but for everydays use and someting newer is boring for me (except a Duc 906-998 or a Guzzi MGS01 maybe).
I hope my bikes are "classic" enough for this forum.

The '73 Honda 500 Four is almost original, engine never rebuild. I bought it in 1981, rode it until 1989. Then it should sleep for 17 years. In 2006 I waked it up, had to change some gaskets, new paint and with meanwhile 128.000 km it's still going good. I made some very effective changes, most cannot be seen: front fork for double disk modified with progressive springs an some CB750 parts, needle bearings for swing arm, Koni shocks with original optics... I am looking for a good CB650 engine, together with some CB500 parts it should be possible to build a engine with about 70 HP, enough to chase some supersports on narrow roads.
The Guzzi was a '84 LeMans III, imported from Italy. I bought it in 1988. In the last 23 years it changed to something between CR and BoT racer. The engine was a little bit modified but runs still with first barrels and pistons (160.000 km more or less, speedo was changed sometimes) Its wil take very long to list all changes, so: some parts as wheels and frame are still untouched.

Hope for some inspiration and nice chats here

Hallo Werner,

willkommen auf dieser Seite - Inspiration sollte reichlich vorhanden sein. Also - schau dir die Augen wund! - und ja, deine Bikes sind klassisch genug für diese Seite. Im Vergleich zu unser deutschen "Steifheit" geht es hier überraschend locker zu - und du wirst sicher staunen was so
mancher aus grausigen 80er Jahre Krädern zaubert - ok, no TÜV in Holland ! Na dann, ,viel Spaß.
