Newby from England.

Post  lilo on Sat 23 Apr - 22:44

Hi all.
I,m a big fan of cafe racers, and will keep riding them as long as my back allows.
I live in England, The birthplace of cafe racers, and have 6 Brit bikes.

I will post a few piccies over the next few weeks, and I am going to the Stafford show tommorrow and will take a few of the best customs there.

Lilo.

I'll try posting a picture.
This is a 1963 RGS I have owned for 7 years.
It was owned by the photographer Don Morley a long time ago and is swown in his book BSA,
All I have done to it is fit rearsets and a 5 speed Nova box. The best money I have ever spent on a bike.[img][/img][img][/img]

Hi Jon.

There were some fantastic cafes there.
It was difficult to take pictures due to the amount of people crowded around the bikes, but I got a few.

I'm in the process of putting them on photobucket.

By the way your triton is looking cool. Where are you up to and when do you expect it to be on the road?

I'll post a couple of pictures of my Norvin soon. It has just had a rebore and will be finished this week.

Yours Lilo.

Sorry about the quality of these shots.

A fantastic Matchless twin racer.

RGS clubman with alloy tank.

[img][/img]

Egli Vincent with underseat exhausts " Ducati style".

[img][/img]

Classic Manx. Doesn't get any better.

[img][/img]

Triton. Very clean example.

Another beauty.

Great choice of colour. I wish I had the vision and courage to use a colour scheme on a bike of this quality. And it works so well!!!

I've only got this picture from last year.
This winter I've put a new louder pipe on. Had it rebored to + 40 with Omega 7.3-1 pistons and made a few minor changes.
Went for a fantastic ride last Sunday but made the mistake of going through Matlock Bath.So hot and packed with traffic I nearly burnt the clutch out.
When I got backI dismantled it and discovered it had 3 stong springs and 3 weaker ones. These need to be fitted alternately and I had assembled it with the 3 strong on 1 side and the 3 weak on the other, so when you pull the lever the pressure plate didn't lift square.
Sorted now.
