Triumph TR6 - Eight Valve

Post  mr8valve on Fri 26 Aug - 22:30

After an accident damaging both the Triumph (its name is Eight Valve) and myself, a bit of work is needed to get it back on the road.

Pictured is the starting point.

As you can see the new workshop needs some work too!

I will keep you all updated as things go along although progress is going to be slow to start with as I'm still not fully fixed.

Even replace the rims with spokes and ur off !!

I'm way ahead of you with the wheels Toecutter.

The white ones are from a mid 70's Rickman Z900 and have been fitted since 1996. I've never felt they looked out of place but the rims are narrow and do not allow big enough rear tyre to cope with the almost 70 BHP that the dyno says it's trying to put down on the road.

So it is going to get these......

As for the BIG work shop..... I have a lot of spanners Laughing

What front and rear end have you used?
Was it much of a job to get them to fit?

I've been neglecting this place.

Bill - the crank was made by Dave Nourish. Not quite to his standard spec! I'm a bit funny like that, I don't like anything to be made to standard spec.

earl34 - the front end is from a Rickman, Betor I believe. I had to make a new steering stem and associated bits and pieces to get it to fit. The swinging arm was made by JMC which went straight in.

toy4xchris - workshop is coming along nicely. Only about half finished but now sorted enough to do some work in it rather than on it.

Under the cover is a partly restored 1958 Norton Dominator 99 - I have to pay for all this stuff some how!

Nice! Last time I spoke with Mr. Nourish he wouldn't do a 90*, only a 180* or a 360*.
