Barn Find Guzzi V50

Post  super8 on Fri 23 Mar - 15:00

Hello Folks,
Well its a few months since i put a post up here and then i was looking farward to getting my Barn Find Guzzi V50.
I got it about a month ago, since then i've been pottering along with the project.
This is what it looked like when i went to pick it up....

I then started pulling it apart,

Somebody once told me it's important to keep a clean, tidy and well organised workshop, (i'm not friends with them anymore!)

electrics off ready for de-lug and repaint

Looking good under the rocker covers at least Very Happy

playing with wheel colours, (am in the middle of this so i'll post some more later)

've been playing with paint today (sounds like i just came home from school)
and this is the result....

Vauxhall paint

Ford paint on the left

Rover paint on the right

close up of Rover

close up of Ford, only one i'll try and get a better one in a bit

just goes to show how you cant rely on the tops of paint cans...

V= vauxhall etc....

just been out to get some more shots of the ford paint.
it doesn't photograph well, never mind, here you are...

and

the ford is very 70's,
the rover looks like cheap melted milk chocotate,
I think i like the vauxhall the best, but i'm still unsure what exactly the bike is going to look like at the end of all this, you never know the rover colour may be just right, it has a 40's/50's look to it.

tanks....

Post  super8 on Mon 30 Apr - 22:17

well i've been playing with tanks.
please ignore the white wall tyre, i painted it with emulsion to see what it would look like (tyre is jiggered) not very good is what i decided.

It is a very cool tank but i think it may be a bit big....

Last tank is indeed to big, first one i dont like cuz it has that late 70's early 80's cap....but thats my opinion...

It all depends on what kind of style you want to bring her to....

let it begin cheers

No i agree, though there is a normal cap under that lockable thing and it is grind-off-able. though it still is a bit wrong.
keep looking........

Its a whole new look with the new forks , much better. The front light looks cool the way its is 'incorporated' with the forks.

the speedometer is nice but does not look handy ,?

it wouldn't be all that handy but there has to be one for the UK MOT (vehicle test)
