Honda CB 125

Post  suzukiac50 on Sun 16 Sep - 19:14

hello,
let me introduce to you my Honda CB125.
When I was 16,I was really liked bikes from 60's and 70's so I bought my first bike: Suzuki AC50 1977!
I loved his bike and it's cafe racer looks (I still do),therefor it was the inspiration for my next purchase.

So when I got in contact with a guy from antwerp who was selling his CB125,in went to take a look!
It was a beautifull bike, the perfect follow-up for my suzuki.
The bike was in good condition for my project, and I wanted it from the moment I saw it.
1 problem:the enigine did not run but the otherwise good condition, all the spare parts and ofcourse the price made me decide to buy the bike!
Here it is: The Honda CB125 1978

First of all i checked the basics to see why it wouldn't start.
Is there compression? YES
does the carburator get fuel? YES
Is the a spark? NO
I looked at the ignition, when i found the first problem: the battery was flat so i bought a 6v charger and a new battery if the battery appears to be broken.
[img][/img]
[img][/img]
Also the Head fuse needed to be replaced, after that I adjusted the platines and i had a spark!! Very Happy
After kicking a few times I got the bike running but than appeared the next problem.
The fuel leaked from my carburator like crazy.
Luckely with the spare parts I got, there was another carburator that I cleaned and put together!
[img][/img]
Now the engine is running and there is no more fuel leak! Very Happy

Up Next: THE LOOKS!!!!!

A new update:
When i brought my seat to get it spraypainted,i decided to paint the tank aswell!
It will be a the original colour, but with a new design!
What do you think!

The honda logo in Norton Lettertype, looks nice i think

[img][/img]
The checkers wil be more straight ofcourse :-) and the blue line will be black aswell, and it wil be all over the tank and the seat!

any remarks?

I bought it from harrie van der kruijs in holland!
He sends them all around the world!

I have got the first one from the left! My seat is currently at the paintshop,so i can't give you the dimensions but maybe you can ask harrie!
What bike is it for?

For a gs 750, i bought one on ebay with the right dimentions but i don't like how the tail looks... Sad It's a little too pointy at the end, i would like to have the seat with the same dimentions but with a round end. I will probably sell this seat and buy another. How much did you pay for yours?

It will be too small for the gs750 but if you contact harrie i think he has enough for you to choose from!
Ik bought mine for 60euro and i think it's the same price for all the seats!

In the spare time 'installed' the exhaust wrap and started to polish engine covers! :-)

Everything is back from the painter and an is mounted back on the bike.
Just a few more details that have to be done like the stickers, the rearlight and the upholstry for the seat.

Great job on the cb mate .

a have a question for you. where did you buy the ac50 ? I think that is a project i did a few years ago for my son. He sold the ac50 afterwards to a guy from Watervliet. It's completely the same ac50 . Notice the not original blinkers , the mudguard at the front and the color differance on the chain cover.
i made this bike as a replica from my own ac50 when a was young :-)
