Dankje!!! Nu snel afmaken zodat ik ermee kan rijden.

Did really fancied to do some homework this evening after I screwed up an mechanical exam. So spend some time on the bike.

Found this RVS soap-dispenser, came up with the idea to make an oliebucket of it!!

used a piece roundsteel to make the holder and some junk steel.

The welds are not really great but its solid!! Needs some finishing and spraying!

A bit like this:

Some new paint!!

Thats it.

Hi Marc - wunderfull idea with the soaptin. To fix it - here another idea, if your welding is not strong enough.

Took a while! But I am back.

Still had some trouble to get the bike running properly. Finally with some help I managed to get the bike running as it should be!

And its sounds like this:

And when I pull the throthle:

Running really smooth! The click your hearing is the choke valve of the carburetors.

Now a few last things and she's ready for a testdrive!

sounds great!

i'm also working on my CB360, i'll post some pics next week. The engine is together, but I need to sort out all the electrics...... Shocked

Anyway, I have a question : what did you do with the electrical connections at the front? The handlebar electrics and lights etc... where did you put that? It is quit a big nest of connectors, does it all fit into the head lamp?

Second question : could you post a picture of the arm of the rear brake? It wasn't put together when I got it, and I can't figure out how to fix that, it somehow doesn't seem to fit.

thanx!

Curious to see the pics! afro

Hi Guys,

Its been a while since I took a look at this forum! Really busy with school, work and my car! Bike has been on a last place for some while! But where back and the bike is running like hell!
Ready for a new start at the forum! Saw a lot of really cool projects already! That puts a smile on my face!

Did a lot of small stuf; new license plate houlder, new gauges, carbs adjusting, fitted a new fuel tap, etc....
Currently the bike looked like this:

She is almost running perfectly, with the racing filters I couldn't get her running properly! Almost like they cut the air off!

So I bought two racing inlets:

When I got them their where blue anodized, had a lot of trouble sanding them!

Fitted them today, tomorrow I will test them out!

Should receive a front fender this week!

So the to do list is very very short: (obviously a project like this is never done!)
* fit the front fender & front licence plate, spray/powdercoat them.
* cover the seat
* fit front fork boots

Last but least, couple of video's:

Oh btw, the fuel supply is a pain in the ass, if I fill the filters/hoses and carbs with fuel the bike is running perfectly but after 20 km's the fuel is up and it won't suck fuel from the gas tank.... I already replaced the fuel tap and with an open fuel cap the problem is the same..

Greetzz,

Marc

Hey Marc,
Good to see you back. The honda looks great.
A tip for anodized alu parts. Just lay them in a bath with caustic soda (Natron loog) and in a half hour they are clean. So no sanding just sit and wait.
You can also use soda (gewoon huishoudsoda) Works too only a little more time needed.
On my XS I have also the racefilters and the problems with them. I think I buy original K&N racefilters for my other project and hope it runs better then.

Thnx Kornfed!

Ah thats a great tips! It took me half a day the sand them!
Yeah the low budget filters a crap unfortunately. The K&N filters are the best solution, but also the most expensive!

A shame your selling the green XS750, really love that bike! Spotted your new project on motor-forum! Great project again!!

Love your solution to remove anodizing from alu parts Kornfed (it's near impossible to remove otherwise!!)

Marc, I found some filters that look the spitting image of K & N's on this website, i'm tempted to buy some and compare their performance to the real deal?

http://www.partsnmore.com/

They also have cheap clip on bars(amongst other things)!

Yeay I know it's a shame selling the green XS, but I need the money to finish the oter one. And I can use some space in my garage. I had 2 years fun with it. So that, and the building, are nice memorys. And we always say: gelukkig hebben we de foto's nog Very Happy

About the filters. I saw some nice K&N lookalikes on heidentuning. http://www.heidentuning.nl/p/28/2506/mo74-cg%7C25=7/%2315-0035-54mm-xs-performance-pod-filter-1-piece
I think they are a good alternative for K&N filters.
