Eur, I agree that Harton's bike is a true astonishing beauty, and the 250 m˛ of garage sound like heaven to me too, but let's try to keep some control on our enthousiasm and so to mind a little bit the (f*****) language...

No problem I also don't like boring political-correct "aseptic" language, it's not what I meant.
But we must take care that the forum doesn't become a mess, cos these things happen quicker than we think...

Hi Andreas, finally got access to the internet again cheers , about 3 weeks without internet and phone.. Was busy working on my new home and moving al the furnishings over, things that has to be done but i could not resist working on the bike so i spend some late hours generally untill midnight to get it on the road a.s.a.p. Complete wiring had to be made, headlight/tacho/speedo mount , fitting new clutch and dual frontbrake cables and some other smal stuff.
April 25 it was ready for a first ride out, running great, already have 250 kilometers without any problems but still have to find out the best way to start this kick only beast. sometimes it starts first kick, sometimes
There are still some things to be done like the tank strap, some bolts exchange and tank decals/striping but most important thing is now i can ride it after building so long...
Just finished coating my garage floor and will start moving over al the motorcycles, parts, machines etc now
Will try to get to a event or meeting soon so we all can meet in person..

Greats, erik

Congrats with your new Home Erik and the beautiful workplace ! What did you use for the coating of your floor ? Because i need to do something like that over here cause the cement comes off and it leaves dust on the floor. :verypissedof:

Hey ,

great Bike!

@MoŽten: This is a CMA/Dresda 8 Leading Shoe Brake, probably the sexiest drumbrake ever. Very Happy
They are really rare nowadays as far as i know....
But maybe we can change this shame within 2011. If everything works as planned, i´m going to re-cast 50 drumbrakes, 8 Leading shoe, but a little bit more like the Menani Double-duplex. We´ll see. I´m going to show some photos, when the first one leaves the mould

Greets,
Ephraim

Harley Sportster

Post  Madhouse on Fri 18 Feb - 19:06

I was so impressed by what you have achieved that it inspired me to build a similar bike.
It is now well on its way having accuired a 1959 Wideline frame and 1975 Sportster 1000cc Ironhead engine.
My knowledge of Harleys is limited and I like the idea of having an exhaust pipe on both sides. Could you tell me which bike your cylinder heads came from and did they have to be machined to fit.
Keep up the good work.

Brand is "Expencive" and type "way to much then I can afford" but still.... drums are the only way to go!
