It is good to sit on. Before you have a steel ass, your arms will hurt you more, because off the extreem bend over to the handlebars Very Happy
But it is possible that, after a long stay in the rain, the foam will come loose and the foam will suck up all the rain.
All racers at the circuit have the same foam I believe.

Zeer mooi project ben benieuwd naar het eindresultaat > Arthur...

Hello Marc63

I must say: I love this bike!!!

I've bought the same bike a few months ago and hopefully I can start rebuilding it this summer into a cafe racer...
You 've created exactly the same cafe racer as I had in mind... Cool

Tell me: did you sandblast the carbs too?
and what kind of exhaust pipes/mufflers are you going to use? (I'm thinking megatone... Wink )

Did you rebuild the cilinderhead yourself? or did you send it to a company?

Keep up the excellent work!!

Thanks rocker.

The carbs are now on my workbench. i'm just gonna check them and clean them, because they are in good condition. Maybe, when they are open, and i find something not so good i will overhaul them.

The exhaust is gonna be the original 4 in 1 with ,yes, a short megatone. The 4 in 1 wil be painted in black, or maybe i will put heatwrap around.

All of the work has been done by myself, including the engine. Only the paintjob a friend of mine did that.
The bike is not perfect, but that wasn't the thing that i had in mind also. You still van see it's a bike from 1979. I used the most old bolts and nuts . The frame has just been cleaned, not repainted, only a few spots on it.

Hi Rocker , it was not a question to me - but i answer. You can "sandblast" the carbs. Looks really very good. You must do it with fine glasperls. If you want i can do this for you. Strip them down and send me the parts you want to blast. If we meet us in oktober it will cost you 3 beers in the evening, a stamp for send the parts back and a donate for the coffeetin. After blasting i can clean the parts in my ultrasonicbath. So mail me if you want his service. Andreas

Guys, i need your opinion on this. What are you thinking of the exhaust ? Is the angle ok ? The problem is that i can't make it higher because i am thinking about to place a set of rear controls. And then the exhaust wil not fit any more.

Second, i'm sorry that i'm not giving any feedback in your topics. I have a lot to do for my work , and i wanna make my cb ready to drive. I make this ok after al the work. at the moment i don't have the time to sit and watch the forum. Only my topic quick update and that's it for the moment. Embarassed

Here some pics.

And for the safety, i absolutely wanna place a mirror. What you think of this one? Is it ok? Or should i place a modern bar end mirror ?

I also placed the chain and the chainguard. Maybe the chainguard wil be replaced with a smaller one.

The exhaust is placed very well.
Did it fit directly on the pipes or did you had to make some modifications?
Is it a original megaton and does it make a loud sound?

I like the mirror too. A bar end mirror seems not so handy (at least not fot me becauce I have a small door to enter my garage. I offen scratch my mirror against a wall).

Keep up the good work.

The exhaust pipe is in perfect place!

And about the mirror, I did the same. I got fed up with the end bar mirror, especially because of the very limited angle space to enter my bike in my backyard

Don't worry about the forum, the bike is more important, and she's very very very nice!!

Hallo allemaal.

Groeten Marc
