Hi Hofman - no - this will be a little bit more raw. So wait until the motor is fixed. Maybe i change the wheels, or the tank,
you will see. I have now 5 SR 500 with a lot of possibilitys to mix the parts.
One goes definitive in a racer direction, another one more to a scrambler.

Hi guys, time to come up in the long list of special bikes. You know the story - i change now the direction. I build this SR into a scrambler, and number three into a racer ( comming soon). In the next weeks you can see it also on my homepage www.retrospeedstyle.de.
So here you get a small update - change the wheelbase other seat and more black parts combinated with polish aluminum and some "red spots". Wintertime is perfect for prepare the motor. I use a "normalpower" 500 motor with a little bit upgrade like exhaust, air intake and carb. So i mean this is ok for the tires ( arround 40HP). The racer will get a max. power motor, and i think the bike will be only for racetrack. At the moment i prepare the frame and clean him from all "no needing" parts. Many things to do, so next month you can see more.

Update from today, get some new Öhlins suspensions 2,5cm higher than the original ones and prepare sidecover for paint.

Hi folks, short update, change once more again the direction. I think the green ( Absynthgreen from Citroen ) is perfect for a scrambler - smaller gastank also. I will take away all red parts and use them for another bike and change to black. Rebuild clearglas headlamp.Next weeks i rebuild the brake system. Hope i get the motor fit this winter. Now i "jump" in my garage to take away the complet ceiling and replace it with more light and white colour - so better for working.

much better Andreas, very nice colour and tank.

I'm curious about the exhaustideas for the scrambler.
I really like the look of a scrambler so maybe I will try to build a scrambler from a XS750 once.

Hi Rafe 56 - all parts are powdercoated - old alu rims, first sandblasted - than two times powder ( black/clear )

Work a long time on my lathe to produce some distance aluparts for the old foodrests - burn fingers for free. Now i have perfect mounts with stainless foodpegs from my old XT 600. - and a late pic after screw it on.

And next update. I rebuild old KONI`s - complet take a part - springs sandblasted an powdercoated, polishing new stainless screws - an backwards - finish. For less money - great parts!

not sure if i use them, 2cm lower than the Öhlins - like SR`s standard equipment. We will see.

hey Andreas,
This is not the first time you do this, is it???? Wink
Looks great and since powdercoating is flexible it won't chip off either.
By the way, anybody knows the price to have a frame sandblasted and powdercoated. ???
I had 16 inch (harley) alloy rims done for 25 eur (both) but that was years ago and through a friend.
if all goes well I wil have some stuff ready as soon as I can start working on the bike again.

Hi Rafe, no, not really the first - maybe the second time Very Happy but if you need some help in powdercoating and you can`t find a cheap possibiltiy - let me know - i can make you an offer. For ex. rim with sandblast and 2 ! time coating cost 50,-€ only one coating is arround 40,-€ So you can send the parts - RAL colour number and i arrange it for you. The grey you see is a special grey from the "Deutsche Bundesbahn" but with high gloss toping. So any German train you see is paint with this grey - but with matt surface. So i can help you allot if you need it. I also polish the old motorparts for CJ`s Honda. Hava look on it.

Andreas

Forgot your question for the frame : only frame ( without other parts) with 2 time coating - matt, normal or gloss is arround 150,-€ incl. sandblast.

hey andreas,
Thanx for the offer but shipping the parts all the way from Belgium through Germany (and back) is going to be expensive I think. I have a powdercoatingcompany nearby (3 streets away) so I will check there first. A friend of mine also knows a company where you can rent a sandblastingcabine and they wil also do the powdercoating/black chrome, chroming, ceramic coating etc.
I can use someone else his polishing machine so that is solved too.
You know how it is in the bikie world, everybody knows everybody and usually someone will find a solution for whatever the problem is.
Of course if I was in your situation with all that equipment, that workingspace and building a couple of bikes at the same time (saw the pictures in other posts) it would be an almost perfect world. Very Happy

I probably need a bit of sandblasting work done next year on the frame(bits) of Morini 3 1/2... 150 euro seems a reasonable price if you're not too far away in Germany... what's your ZIP code?
